Director F. Gary Gray has been tapped to adapt hit video game franchise Saints Row for the big screen.

Screenwriter Greg Russo, who is working on the reboots for Mortal Kombat and Resident Evil, will pen the script for the action-adventure movie, which The Fate of the Furious filmmaker will direct, reports IGN.

Gray’s other directing credits, include the 1995 comedy Friday with Ice Cube, The Italian Job remake (2003) with Mark Wahlberg and Donald Sutherland and NWA biopic Straight Outta Compton (2015). He is also directing the upcoming Men in Black: International, which stars Tessa Thompson, Chris Hemsworth and Liam Neeson.

The Saints Row games, which are similar to the Grand Theft Auto series, revolve around the activities of the Third Street Saints gang, which was first introduced to fans in 2006.

Three Saints Row sequels have since been released, with the most recent, Saints Row IV, hitting stores in 2013.
