Actress Michelle Dockery is up for a Downton Abbey movie sequel, as long as her castmates are on board.

The film version of the beloved TV series will hit cinemas next month and some of the stars are already dreaming of a return to Highclere Castle — the setting for the period drama.

“We’ll see,” Dockery tells InStyle. “As Elizabeth McGovern, who plays my mother, just said, ‘All doors are left open.’”

Dockery admits it was a joy to be back on set with McGovern and the likes of Dame Maggie Smith and Hugh Bonneville: “It felt like no time had passed at all. (I realized) I’d taken some things for granted, like driving up to that house; it honestly took my breath away.

“I think the three-year gap was perfect, because we’d all been off doing our own thing, and it was enough time to really, really miss it.”

But the actress reveals it was tough finding her Lady Mary voice, adding, “I’d been so used to playing Americans that when we filmed Downton Abbey, I think Lady Mary started off being a little too posh.”
